Dr. Teresa Golden became the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in October 2019. She previously served as the Associate Vice President for Assessment and Accreditation. Prior to moving into administration, she served as a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences joining Southeastern back in 2006. She was also a department chair for 8 years.

Teresa holds a Ph.D. and Master’s from the University of Rochester and a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany. She has a record of research in the areas of cancer, cell-signaling, genetics, and flowering time in plants. She holds a patent from her graduate work involving a gene in plants. She loves teaching and involving students in research projects.

While Teresa is a native of rural East Berne, New York, Durant feels like home. She is a past President and current Treasurer for the Durant Rotary Club. She is also the current President of the Durant area Delta Kappa Gamma group, an international teaching society.

She and her husband, Tony Goza, reside in Durant. Tony owns and operates Sound Creations just outside of Durant in Mead, Oklahoma. She and Tony enjoy attending Southeastern events and being involved in charitable/volunteer events around town.
